Patrimonio was the first Corsican AOC (1968): limestone hills above the Gulf of Saint-Florent. The reds are made from Niellucciu, a relative of Sangiovese, the whites from Vermentinu.
The estates are small and family-run; most welcome visitors without an appointment in season. With a guide you visit three or four cellars in half a day.
