Where to stay on Tahiti
On Tahiti people usually spend 1–2 nights near the airport or in Punaauia, then 3–4 nights on Moorea and 3–4 on Bora Bora. Pensions — family guest houses with breakfast and dinner — help keep costs down.
Types of accommodation
- Pensions — family guest houses, the most affordable option.
- Hotels and resorts — in the west of Tahiti, on Moorea and Bora Bora.
- Overwater bungalows — the signature Polynesian format, and the most expensive.
