The west

Saint-Leu is a world-class site, with a steady breeze and thermals almost every day. In tandem with an instructor you take off from the slopes above town (800 m; there is also a launch at 1,500 m) and land by the lagoon near Kélonia.

No preparation is needed, only closed shoes. Morning flights are calmer; in the afternoon the thermals are stronger — for those who want to stay up longer.
