Where to stay in Guadeloupe
It is best to split the trip between two bases: Grande-Terre (Sainte-Anne or Saint-François) for beaches and Basse-Terre (Deshaies or Bouillante) for nature and snorkelling. One or two nights on Les Saintes are well worth it.
Types of accommodation
- Hotels and residences — Le Gosier, Sainte-Anne, Saint-François.
- Gîtes and bungalows — the most popular format, often with a kitchen and a pool.
- Villas — on Basse-Terre, around Deshaies and Bouillante.
